Ragnarök

ODIN!
Lord of Valhalla, high king of the Æsir.
Odin carries his treasures, the spear Gungnir, the magical ring Draupnir and the head of Mimir which predicts the future. He is accompanied by the ravens, Huginn and Muninn, his wolves Freki and Geri and rides out on Sleipnir the eight legged horse who was fathered by Loki.
At Ragnarök Odin shall ride before the Æsir and the Einherjar wearing a golden helmet and an intricate coat of mail where he shall be swallowed by the great wolf Fenrir and so die.

HRYM
During the end times Hrym shall captain the ship Naglfar, made of the finger and toe nails of the dead, from Jotunheim to Vígríðr bringing the legions of jötnar to the final battle.

My money's on that big fella, Hrym. Fantastic models. I didn't even noticed the eight-legged horse until I read the text. Very 'natural' (if that makes sense) looking.

Regards,
Matt

Looks amazingly great! Takes me back to being 10 and reading D'aulaire's Norse Myths for the first time. I've never been the same since...
Now, are you going to do a whole Ragnarok range, cause if so, I'm in...

Wasn't Naglfar Baldur's boat? Or am I getting confused? Probably the latter.

Soapy said...

Baldr's boat was Hringhorni on which he was burned.

Naglfar was moored in Muspell and made from the unclipped nails of the dead. When Jormungandr swam from the seas to the land he caused the seas to rise causing Naglfar to brake it's moorings.

Skíðblaðnir is the one I always get it confused with...

LOVE that Odin... very realistically proportioned. The work on Sleipnir is excellent... must have been interesting to put all those legs together:) Great job, I'll totally buy that when it comes out!

Please have Odin on Sleipnir with Gere and Freke mass produced so I can buy them for myself. Then make a similar figure of Þórr in his chariot with Tanngnjost and Tanngrisner harnesed at the front. Don't forget Mjolnir(how could you;)), Meginjarder the belt of strength and Greipnir the power gloves. Finally I need you to make a figure of Loki with his three children; Fenriz, Midgårdsormen and Hel with all her accesories like cain, plate of hunger and so forth. Midgårdsormen shoul be wrapped around a small globe. The three cildren should reach his knees from the ground up in height. I would also like to have one of Tyr ie. a one handed man with a sword and pointy ears. All of these figures should either be mass prouced in order to become affordable or you will contact me with a reasonable price.

THANKYOU

GOODBYE

and have a nice day......:)

Thankyou for your responce and sorry for the demanding tone in my previous post. I felt my "demands" were unrealistic and therefore gave up hope of gaining anything with said post, but enough about that!
I need your figures as a historical and mythological reference for my own project. The reason your figures are so fitting, is the fact that you seem to include every single part of the myths in your work, even topping myself with the head of Mimir, but rest assured I will fix that. So whatever your responce may be and whatever comes out of this correspondence, thankyou for that! I already have an idea for Mimir; I am going to put a head in a liquid filled glass jar, Futurama style.
Inspired by ancient alien theories, my project consist of seven mannequin dolls dressed up as modern day versions of the Aesir; Odin, Thor and Loki. I had one female doll dressed as Freya with two torsoes as her cats aswell but I had to return them as they were only for rent. Please understand that I do not consider the dolls themselves my accomplishment but rather the project in which they functioned.
They were used as avatars in a winter solstice in my city; Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
The meaning of this project were threefold:
1. Celebrating the fact that the sun would now stay up for longer and longer and remembering our forefathers.
2. Perfoming this ritual in a modern way by holding it in the recreational 30 square feet area of the ghetto I live in, using manneqin dolls as avatars, drinking from a beer bong and so forth.
3. Proving that whatever we humans choose to identify with, it will benefit some of our fellow men and women and offend others. Which I did since one of my neighbours came down and told us to rid the place or else he the whole neighbourhood would overrun us. At one time the police showed up because the kindergarten accross had called for them in fear...
All this took place on 21st. of december 2009, thing is I still have the dolls and was actually planning to strip them bare and try to sell them but now that I have pulled them down from my addict room, I want to finsh them and this is where your figures come in. My plan is to video tape them and have your figures in the foreground as a way to better explain the modernday versions of their clothing and equipment. The youtubelink here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xElctHurei0

is of Odin, please check the details for an indeepth explanation. I have uploaded thgis video for you only, since I haven't finished with him yet, the file is too big to email and I think it's necessary for you to see for yourself what all this is about. I haven't finished with him yet as I plan to attach skin hexagons on his right cheek like in the videogame Deus Ex: Human Revolution that I just finished last week and an optical sight on Gungnir as it is the spear that never misses.
oh and then Mimirs head in a jar offcourse courtesy of yourself.
